QOD:

Fish – 648. Quitting with Larry one day a time! NDT!

RWM -1539- Are any of the newly signed up people in any way interested in quitting? If so, we’d like to hear from you. Tell us why you want to quit. Adding your name and day count is for those promising to stay nicotine free today, so don’t do that unless you can commit; if not, write a separate post telling us about how your relationship with dip is going bad.

STS 1,636 Keeping quit with Larry and anyone else who is ready to free themselves from slavery to the can-o-cancer

Larry 64 my schedule is off right now and I thought I posted yesterday. looks like I didn’t and I’m irritated because I try to make it a point to post daily. I’m dip free again today

UncleBubba – 6419 – Staying quit with Larry. Would love to see some new quitters joing the group.

SC – 1129 – Would love to see new folks too. The fact of the matter is that a lot of people like to say they want to quit but wont even put out the effort to try and quit for one day. Its tough – but we are proof it can be done. Glad to see Larry is a committed poster

Dugan 173: hey Larry good job. We all miss a day posting some times. I’m glad you’re still here, and still quit. I agree with you Splinter. I’m proof it can be done. I quit a 65 year old habit. Most of the battle is in making up your mind. It helps if yo have support, and that’s what we are here for. I thought there were more people in this room. Hmm?? confused_gif

QOD:

RWM 1541- I’m at this great place where thoughts about dip and craves are very rare and are just a slight annoyance before I start thinking about something better. I’m going to continue to do what got me here, and then some.

Nick-945- It gets easier with time Larry. I still have small craves that sneak their way in my thoughts but every time that happens I tell those thoughts I don’t do that any more. NDT

STS; 1,638: Hang in there Larry. Yes at day 66 the craves and thoughts can still be quite strong, but you are prepared this time. You know that Nic Bitch is gonna whisper in your ear and tell you the same old lies, and now you are able to tell her to go fu*k-off. You are doing great man, and it will get easier. Our post 100 day group on this site is called “We don’t do that shit anymore” That was moto that has helped me from even in my early days of quitting dip. Yes, I acknowledge that I used to be an all-day dipper and that I still might get a crave, but I don’t do that shit anymore. Larry doesn’t do that shit anymore either.

UncleBubba – 6421 – even at almost 18 years quit I occasionally will get a brief crave, remember what that feeling in my lip felt like. But it’s brief. And easy to put aside. A lot of quitters getting strong urges around the 60 day mark. But now you have 60 days under your belt to tell that urge to F off.

Quit Date - October 27, 2003

" I realized that I saw my addiction as a wall, a big-assed wall, like the Great Wall. It was too high to climb, to thick to beat through, to deeply set to dig under, and too wide to go around. It had beaten me and I had to admit that I could not fight with it anymore. To get to the other side I had to turn my back on it, stop looking for the quick fix to get to the other side, and take the old first step on a 10,000 mile journey. I accepted that it would take many, many days before I could look back and not see that wall. That, it seems, was the difference." - Dulouz Feb '04

QOD:

RWM 1542 – We take it one day at a time because one day is temporary. The suckiness portion of quitting is temporary. One day in the near future, the suckiness will be in past. What resets the whole process is caving and going through the whole process over and over again. You have to keep at it until the miracle happens. And I don’t mean miracle literally, because you basically build your own road, stone by stone. One day, the whole road opens up before you and you think “what a glorious thing I’ve built!” and you never want to give it away again.
