Roll Call for anyone less than 100 days quit. “Quote this post” and then reline of code at the beginning of the quoted post

4/6/2021

QOD: Tell us a good reason to dip?

RWM 1491 – Quitting with Dayton and Larry. There is no reason whatsoever to dip. There are an infinite number of things you can do about any situation besides taking a dip.

Nick- 895- A good reason to dip???? There is no such thing, I can’t think of a bad reason to dip either. BUT there are many reasons to stay quit.

STS: 1,588: Being completely honest, I did like some of the effects of tobacco use such as hyper focus of the brain and appetite control. HOWEVER, any perceived or actual minor “benefit” from tobacco is completely trumped a million times over by the fact that many folks including me become enslaved to it, and it will completely run our lives. Also the negative effects of tobacco use (cancer, tooth loss, cardio vascular issues, etc. etc.) completely outweigh by a ton, any perceived benefit. If I want hyper brain focus I can take ADHD medicine and if I want appetite control I can cake diet pills. There is just no sane reason to use tobacco knowing its addictive properties and detrimental effects on your health.

Larry – Day 18 in Mexico

SC – 1081 – If I had a choice to slam my balls into a kitchen drawer or dip – I might dip. Other than that, no good reason

UncleBubba – 6371 – there is no good reason

Quit Date - October 27, 2003

" I realized that I saw my addiction as a wall, a big-assed wall, like the Great Wall. It was too high to climb, to thick to beat through, to deeply set to dig under, and too wide to go around. It had beaten me and I had to admit that I could not fight with it anymore. To get to the other side I had to turn my back on it, stop looking for the quick fix to get to the other side, and take the old first step on a 10,000 mile journey. I accepted that it would take many, many days before I could look back and not see that wall. That, it seems, was the difference." - Dulouz Feb '04

RWM 1492 – Your post just didn’t get on the main roll thread, Dayton. Somebody probably meant to add it on, but forgot. No worries, it is still recorded for posterity. Minnesota Vikings fan here. Also NY islanders.

UncleBubba – 6372 – Boston Red Sox – was a huge Celtics fan as a kid, but baseball took over as I got older. That being said, I’m not feeling MLB these last few years.

Nick- 897- Here at LDF we’re looking for some committed individuals wanting to break free from the chains of nicotine addiction. I will not use any form of nicotine today, who else is willing to accept that challenge?

UncleBubba, one time I was at Fort Irwin, CA we were doing some training in the desert. My tank broke down and we were stranded for a few days waiting on the truck to come pick us up and take us back to the main post. A couple of us ran out of dip and was nearly desperate enough to start walking back. Keep in mind Tiefort Mountain between us and the nearest store. A couple of us seriously debated walking about 3 miles to the mountain, then climbing it, this thing is over 3000 feet above the desert floor and we were in the Mojave Desert, then continuing of the next 3 or 4 miles to the store. The craziness we would do, or at least consider just to get a fix.

QOD: What is your signature dish that other people ask you to make?

RWM 1494 – Quitting with Dayton and Larry. Anyone else is welcome to add their name to the roll list. You can make it through the day without that stupid nicotine. The bad relationship ends now. Chicken enchiladas.
